About Us
The first Garfield Elementary School was built in 1902 where the school’s playground is today. The school was rebuilt and re-opened in 1968. In 2008, the third rendition of the school was built, thanks to voter approval of a construction bond in 2006. Garfield Elementary School is a proud centerpiece for the Riverside Neighborhood and represents the learning and community focus of the region.
SCHOOL HOURS:
- Regular Hours: 9:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Early Release: 1 p.m. dismissal
- Learning Improvement Friday: 2:15 p.m. dismissal

At Garfield Elementary we are focused on taking care of the hearts and minds of each and every student. We do this in a welcoming, inclusive, courageous culture for all so that each has a strong sense of belonging and safety to grow and succeed.
